Running with Purpose: Diana Shipping Services S.A. at the Open Door Run

On Sunday, September28, our team at Diana Shipping Services S.A. had the privilege of participating in the Open Door Run, an inspiring event that brought people together not only to move, but also to make a difference.
Open Door is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through educational programs, vocational training, cultural and athletic activities, Open Door works to promote inclusion, independence, and equal opportunities. Its mission is to create a society where every person, regardless of ability, has the chance to participate fully and meaningfully in community life. The Open Door Run is more than a sporting event. Its purpose is to support and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, raising awareness and resources to create more inclusive opportunities. By opening doors, both literally and symbolically, the run celebrates diversity, resilience, and community spirit.
For us, being part of this initiative was about more than lacing up our shoes. It was about embodying values that are central to Diana Shipping Services S.A.: teamwork, responsibility towards society and giving back to those in need. Each kilometer covered was a reminder that collective action leads to greater impact.
The day was filled with positive energy: colleagues and their family members running side by side, cheering for one another, and sharing the joy of contributing to a meaningful cause. The atmosphere was a testament to what happens when people with shared values come together with a common purpose.
