Data Analytics Engineer

About the job

Diana Shipping Services S.A., a global ship management company, specializing in the operation and trading of dry bulk carriers, is looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to enable high-quality analytics and actionable insights across the organization. The role is part of the Digital Transformation team and reports to the Business Intelligence and Data Lead.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows
• Develop ETL processes for data cleansing, transformation and storage
• Build and optimize data models to support business intelligence efforts
• Contribute to the design and development of data visualization and reporting solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data integration and accuracy
• Coordinate with external service providers and data platform vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to architectural standards
• Maintain detailed documentation of data solutions
• Support Data Production environment to ensure business continuity
• Evaluate new tools and technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the data ecosystem

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven work experience (minimum 2 years) in data analytics, data engineering, or a similar field.

Technical Expertise

• Expertise in Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data manipulation/cleansing techniques
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView
• Strong analytical skills for processing and modeling large datasets

Additional desired experience that will make you stand out

• Experience in the maritime industry
• Experience developing Power BI visuals using Power Query and DAX
• Coding with Python
