HSQ - Vetting Superintendent
We are seeking an HSQ - Vetting Superintendent to ensure the safe and efficient operation of its vessels in accordance with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) principles and industry guidelines. The role will work closely with Operations and Technical departments and report to the HSQ Vetting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Monitor vessels' third-party, vetting inspections and audits, follow up on deficiencies, and identify trends
- Coordinate investigations of incidents, accidents and near misses, analyze results, produce annual statistics and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Perform internal office and on-board vessel audits, maintaining accurate documentation
- Assist with the IMS requirements’ familiarization of new shore and seagoing personnel
- Follow up on international rules, regulations and industry requirements
- Actively promote safe working practices, cultivating a culture of open reporting and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
Requirements
- Proven work experience of at least 3 years as an HSQ - Vetting Superintendent or similar role
- Be a Marine Academy graduate or hold a degree in Maritime Studies
- Familiarity with RightShip and PSC inspections
- Hands-on experience with ISM/ISPS/MLC audits
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact efficiently with shore and on-board teams
- Fluent in English language
- Computer literacy with full knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Availability to travel on-board vessels
- Previous sea service will be considered a plus
