About the role
We are looking for a driven and skilled Superintendent Electrician to become part of our onshore technical team. In collaboration with fellow Superintendent Electricians, this role provides technical guidance, oversight, and troubleshooting support to onboard electricians, helping ensure our electrical plant and electronic equipment is properly maintained, safely operated, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrical engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working closely with and guiding our crew onboard, and making a real impact by keeping our fleet powered and moving across the seas.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to our crews on electrical plant and electronic equipment.
- Inspect vessels and monitor the condition, performance, and maintenance of onboard electrical equipment.
- Maintain technical records and monitor fleet performance through relevant KPIs.
- Monitor execution of dry-docking and major electrical repair projects.
- Monitor the performance of ships’ electricians.
- Provide technical feedback on quality and product performance for the equipment and spares supplied to the fleet.
- Review and evaluate critical spare parts inventory and support purchasing decisions.
- Ensure the safe and environmentally sound operation of the fleet, in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
- Analyze potential electrical risks and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with HSQ Department.
- Support incident investigations and the timely implementation of corrective actions when required.
What we’re looking for:
Education & Certifications
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proficient in English language.
Experience
- Solid experience as an electrician officer onboard ships.
- Practical technical experience in a ship management company as a superintendent electrician will be considered a plus.
- Experience with shipboard power generation and distribution systems, automation and control systems, Main Engine Remote Control /maneuvering Systems and propulsion auxiliaries, Engine Room Machineries, BWTS, and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic faults.
- Basic knowledge of navigation and communication equipment.
- Experience supporting vessel dry-dockings, retrofits, new installations, or major electrical repairs
Skills and Competencies
- Technical proficiency in electric/ electronic/ automation ship systems and machinery
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams ashore and onboard.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear, practical, and easy-to-understand manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems under time pressure.
- Availability to travel for vessel visits, inspections, and dry-dockings.
